State Titles are not just about winning medals.
It is about setting your goals and preparing yourself to achieve them.
It is about being the best that you can be.
Some may win a medal with an ordinary effort.
But the true winner can look themselves in the mirror and say, "I gave it my absolute best shot".
The road to success may be short for some, for others it may be longer.
But eventually, if you stay true to your self-belief, success will come.
Not just anybody can say they are a Semaphore SLSC Nipper.
You are each special to our club.
We applaud your best effort, no matter what position you finish.
State Titles are about being part of a team and supporting your mates.
Enthusiasm for your team is infectious and showing good team leadership will make your team members respond.
For at the end of the day, the good team supporter will have made an enormous contribution to their team's success.
And remember you are supposed to have fun at State Titles.
Support your Coach - be organised and prepared.
Head to the start line focussing not on what you would like to do, but what you intend to do.
Don't dream about it - do it!
And in a quiet moment at the end of the weekend ask yourself,
"Was I the best I could have been"?
