This is open to children aged 5 to 13 and we would welcome your enquiry.

Please download our “Come and Try” Brochure, for more information.
The Family Club
Our family members represent the cornerstone on which Semaphore SLSC fundamentally operates.
We have current family members that span 3 generations.
This atmosphere strengthens family bonds and creates an open and friendly environment where members are made to feel welcome whether they are new to the club or have been part of our tradition for over 40 years.
We would welcome your membership enquiry for the new season.

Competition
We have Junior, Senior and Masters programs aimed at competition events as well as our commitment to patrolling Semaphore’s beaches.
In the Junior area, children can start at age 5 in the “Sandcrabs”. The crabs and under 8 programs are aimed at fostering a sense of water awareness and safety whilst having fun on the beach and in the water.
Competition events are open to children aged 8 – 14. Skills are learnt in surf swimming, boarding, wading, beach sprints and flags. Individual and team events are run at Surf Carnivals from October to March.
The Senior program consists of Under 15, 17, 19 and Open events in Swimming, Boarding, Surf Boats, Surf Rescue and beach events.
Beach Patrol
Patrolling our beaches underpins all surf lifesaving activities. All life-savers that patrol the beach have received comprehensive training in water safety and surf rescue.
This is a voluntary service that our members provide to the Community.
All children receive tuition in water safety as part of their club activities.
An important part of their development is learning basic resuscitation skills and surf rescue certificates are awarded to those who attend and pass these courses.
Social Events
If you can picture yourself looking over a setting sun on our magnificent balcony deck with a cold glass of champagne or cider, perhaps our social life might appeal to you. We hold many social events during the Surf-lifesaving season including;
